“Mikis Theodorakis: To chroniko mias epanastasis 1960-1967. I istoria tis genias tou 1-1-4 kai ton “Lamprakidon” (“Mikis Theodorakis: The Chronicle of a Revolution 1960-1967. The Story of the 1-1-4 Generation and the ‘Lamprakides’”) by Fontas Ladis
For the book by author Fontas Ladis, Matthaios Frantzeskakis, Director of the Chania Film Festival and Board Member of the Pan-Cretan Association of Mikis Theodorakis’ Friends, and Thanasis Sylivos, publisher, will discuss the work. The author will intervene via a pre-recorded message, and the 20-minute documentary “Mia epanastasi arxizei” (“A Revolution Begins”) (directed by Vangelis Dimitriou), based on the first chapter of the book, will be screened.

“Irthan me mia klimatoverga ap’ tin Kriti. Poiimata” (“They came with a vine from Crete. Poems”) by Cevat Çapan
The two daughters of the Turkish Cretan poet and academic Cevat Çapan, Leylâ Çapan and Nigar Çapan, read a text written by Cevat especially for the event, while the Turkish Cretan poet Ayșe Lahur Kirtunç and the translator Anthi Karra speak about his work. Workshop “Literature and Cinema”
Is a film a faithful adaptation of a literary text? How can the pleasure derived from watching a movie be harmonized with the joy of reading and engaging in literacy games? By exploring the cinematic language of a fiction film, we create inspirations for reading and literacy games.
