Program Overview
This is a literary performance workshop focusing primarily on contemporary poems that tackle gender issues. Through experiential activities, we will approach the diverse perspectives each poem offers on the subject.
After first establishing the theoretical foundations of literary performance, we will then utilize theatrical exercises, drama-in-education techniques, improvisations, and materials from every field of art and social life, in an attempt to transform the written word into a performance setting.
Upon completion of the sessions, the workshop group will have acquired a diverse toolkit of techniques that they can freely adapt, together with their teacher, according to their needs. This will enable them to utilize these resources to create their own literary performance.
