In its fifth edition, the Chania Book Festival (CBF) launches an educational program titled "Bibliomachies" (Book Battles). The program is organized by the Municipality of Chania in collaboration with the Region of Crete, with the participation of school units from the Chania Prefecture and the approval of the Directorates of Primary and Secondary Education of Chania. The program is implemented with the support of the Inter-municipal Solid Waste Management Enterprise [DEDISA S.A. (OTA)].

From February to March 2026, seven Greek creators are conducting workshops in nine Primary and Secondary schools. Utilizing tools from various fields of arts and letters—creative writing, theater, poetry, history, visual arts, storytelling, music, dance, comics, new technologies, etc.—the program aims to promote reading appreciation (philagnosia) through a creative approach to Greek and world literature, aligned with the central theme of the 5th CBF.

In addition to their physical presence, the seven creators collaborate remotely with school teachers and the Festival’s working group, from the beginning of 2026 until the realization of the conference.
