at the 4th Chania Book Festival
Dear friends,
The Municipality of Chania and the Region of Crete are co-organizing the 4th Chania Book Festival, which will take place from Wednesday, June 25 to Sunday, June 29, 2025, under the central theme “Our Home, the Planet.”
The festival will be held at the Venetian Harbor of Chania, between the Center of Mediterranean Architecture and the “Mikis Theodorakis” Theater.
The official opening ceremony will take place on Tuesday, June 24, at the “Mikis Theodorakis” Theater.
The Festival has become a key event in the literary and cultural life of the city, with a reach that extends beyond Greece to an international audience. We warmly invite you to take an active part by supporting this year’s program as a volunteer.
To sign up, please complete the online form by Friday, June 20. Basic requirements include excellent communication skills, a good command of both Greek and English, and a willingness to contribute to an event dedicated to books and culture.
As a volunteer, you’ll gain valuable experience by actively supporting the organization and implementation of the Festival’s events. Tasks may include welcoming and assisting guests, and helping ensure the smooth flow of the program — always in collaboration with the Festival’s core team.

We look forward to having you join us in this important event, which for the fourth consecutive year brings together Greek and international authors, publishers, translators, academics, and intellectuals from Greece and abroad — expanding the love of reading and making Chania a meeting point for people of the book from around the world.
